FUNERAL OF MRS. SAFFIN
The death took place at her home, 18, Northgate, Wiveliscombe, on Good Friday, of Mrs. Nellie Elizabeth SAFFIN, aged 65, after a long illness. She leaves a husband and three sons. Mrs. SAFFIN was connected with the Women's Institute, the Mothers' Union and other organisations, and during the war was a prominent member of the W.V.S.
The funeral took place at St. Andrew's Church, on Tuesday. The Vicar, the Rev. V. C. ALLEN, officiated. The family mourners were:- Mr. F. H. SAFFIN (husband), Mr. W. SAFFIN, Mr. E. SAFFIN and Mr G. SAFFIN (sons), Mrs. K. SAFFIN and Mrs. G. SAFFIN (daughters-in-law), Messrs. H. T., S., E., and H. OATEN (brothers), Mrs. WELFARE and Mrs. TAYLOR (sisters), Mrs. F. OATEN, Mrs. F. TANTON and Mrs. W. WEBBER (sisters-in-law), Mr. C. WELFARE (brother-in-law), Mrs. R. PURCHASE, Miss G. PURCHASE, Mrs. MIDDLETON, Miss E. NATION, Mrs. D. dodge <sic>, Mrs. E. WEBBER and Mrs. S. NATION (nieces), Mr. C. PURCHASE and Mr. F. SAFFIN (nephews), Mrs. LYDDON and Misses E. and L. LYDDON (cousins).
Others present included: Mrs. T. DULBOROUGH, Mrs. C. and Mrs. E. BARRINGON, Mrs L. C. COLES, Mrs. A. VICKERY, Mrs. C. HILL, Mr. E. PROUT and Rev. HANDOL (friends), Mrs. ALLEN, enrolling member and members of the Women's Union, members of the Women's Institute with their President, Mrs. E. LANGDON COCKS, and Secretary, Mrs. S. PULSFORD.
Mrs. H. T. OATEN, Mrs. S. OATEN, Mrs. H. OATEN, Mrs. E. SAFFIN (sisters-in-law), Mr. F. TAYLOR (brother-in-law) and Mrs. C. GREEDY and Mrs. G. WOODBURY (friends) were prevented from attending through indisposition.
There were a large number of floral tributes.
