FIVEHEAD AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.

The annual ploughing match for the parishes of Fivehead and Swell took place at Fivehead on Tuesday, in a piece of clover-ley in the occupation of Mr Michael GANGE. There were ten competitors, and the horses and harness were in first-class condition. The prizes were awarded as follow:- £1, John CHORLEY, in the employ of Mr. J. HALLET, of Swell; driver, Thomas CHORLEY, 1s 6d. 15s, Charles PESTER, employed by Mr. C. HARVARD, Fivehead; driver, Thomas CHORLEY, 1s 6d. 10s, James PAINE, employed by Mr. W. STUCKEY, Fivehead; driver, George STUCKEY, 1s. 6d. 7s. 6d, James CHORLEY, employed by Mr. T. LOUCH, Fivehead; driver, William CHORLEY, 1s. 5s, John CHORLEY, employed by Mr J. HALLETT; driver, Frank THYER, 1s; 6th prize, George STENSON, Mr J. HALLETT's employ; driver. William MILLER, 1s. The umpires were Mr CHAMBERS, of Thorne Falcon, and Mr. H. LOCKYER, Stoke St. Gregory. The dinner was held at the Foxhound inn, where Host HARVARD put an excellent repast before his guests. Mr. W. H. RICHARDSON, of Langford House, presided. Among those present were Messrs W. STUCKEY, T. LOUCH, C. HALLETT, G. BARNARD, F. RICHARDSON, C. HARVARD, L. MEADE, CHAMBERS, LOCKYER, W. BURNELL, A. DINHAM, SELLICK, E. COOK, &c. After dinner the usual toasts were proposed and duly responded to. The ploughmen and drivers were provided with a substantial dinner, and the unsuccessful competitors were presented with 2s 6d each. During the evening songs were sung by Mr CHAMBERS, Mr E. COOK, Mr T. COOPER, Mr C. HARVARD, and others.
