TRULL.

DEATH AND FUNERAL OF MR. H. SHARP. - It is with deep regret we record the death of Mr. H. SHARP, which took place at his residence, Eastview-terrace, on Monday afternoon, at the age of 59 years. Deceased had been in failing health for some time past, but on Saturday, while away from home, was taken with a seizure, and despite all medical aid never regained consciousness to the end. He was a familiar figure in the parish and, neighbourhood and, highly respected by all who knew him. He leaves a widow, one son and daughter, for whom the deepest sympathy is felt, the elder son having died in December last from the effects of war service. The funeral took place in the Trull Churchyard, on Thursday, in the presence of a large congregation, the Vicar (Rev. M. L. WINTERTON) officiating. The coffin, which was carried into the church by four of deceased's friends, Messrs. H. ROWLAND, R. SHIRE, J. WOOD, and J. VICKERY, was covered with beautiful flowers, and was of polished elm with oak mouldings and brass fittings, with the engraved inscription:- “Henry SHARP, died September 24th, 1923, aged 59 years.” The chief mourners were:- Mrs. SHARP (widow), Mr. B. SHARP (son), Mrs. A. POINTING (daughter), Mr. T. SHARP (brother), Mr. A. POINTING (son-in-law), Mrs. F. OATEN (niece). Mr. F. OATEN (nephew), Mr. C. POINTING (friend), Buckland St Mary. There was a large number of floral tributes. The funeral arrangements were entrusted to Mr. R. J. DOBLE, of Trull.
