TRULL
DEATH OF MRS. A. SHARP.
A HIGHLY-RESPECTED PARISHONER.
Much regret was expressed in the parish and neighbourhood on Wednesday evening of last week at the death of Mrs. A. L. SHARP, of 5, Glencoe-terrace, which occurred after a short illness at the Taunton and Somerset Hospital, at the age of 47 years. Deceased was the only daughter of Mr. W. OATEN, and had only been married about 18 months to Mr. A. SHARP, being the widow of the late Mr. W. WIGGINTON, who died on war service in 1916.
During her residence in Trull, she had made many friends in the parish and neighbourhood, and was held in very high esteem. She leaves a husband and two daughters to mourn their loss, and to whom much sympathy has been extended.
The interment took place in the Trull Churchyard on Saturday afternoon in very boisterous and rainy weather, which prevented many from attending. The funeral service was conducted by the Vicar (Rev. M. L. WINTERTON). The coffin, which was of polished elm, with oak mouldings and brass fittings, bore the engraved inscription: “Annie Laura SHARP, died October 24th, 1928, aged 47 years.” Four friends of deceased acted as bearers, viz., Messrs. W. J. BISHOP, W. HUTCHINGS, C. PUGH, and E. SHIRE. The family mourners were:- Mr. A. SHARP (husband); Misses D. and W. WIGGINTON (daughters); Mr. W. OATEN (father); Messrs. W. OATEN and F. OATEN (brothers); Mrs. W. OATEN, Mrs. F. OATEN, and Mrs. J. SHARP (sisters-in-law); Messrs. F. SHARP and J. SHARP (brothers-in-law); Mr. and Mrs. POLE (uncle and aunt); Mr. B. SHARP (step-son); Mr. C. KNIGHT (cousin); Mr. B. MELHUISH and Mr. A. POINTING (friends).
