CURRY MALLET.

DEATH OF MR. B. BAWLER. - The death occurred on Thursday evening, December 21st at the residence of his only daughter (Mrs. H. MALE, Fivehead), of Mr. Barnabas BAWLER, who had only just celebrated his 82nd birthday. Mr. BAWLER had always lived in Curry Mallet and was very well known. He was of a cheerful disposition and will be greatly missed. For many years Mr. BAWLER was employed at the Manor Farm by the late Mr. Albert GLIDE, prior to which he used to drive a horse 'bus to Taunton on Saturdays – a great event in those days. Until a year ago Mr. BAWLER enjoyed very good health and lived with his son, but a stroke necessitated his going to live with his daughter at Fivehead. Much sympathy is felt with the five sons (four of whom live in Curry Mallet) and a daughter in their bereavement, coinciding with the festive season. The funeral took place on Boxing-day. The remains were laid to rest in the Parish Churchyard, where his wife – who died in 1921 – is also buried. The Rector (the Rev. H. C. TRITTON) officiated, and Miss PESTER presided at the organ. The mourners were:- Messrs. Walter, Albert, Frank, Edward, and Ernest, of Cardiff (sons), Mrs. MALE (daughter), Mr. H. MALE (son-in-law), Mrs. W. BAWLER, Mrs. A. BAWLER, and Mrs. E. BAWLER (daughters-in-law), and Messrs. Francis MALE and Jack BAWLER (grandsons).
