WELLINGTON WEDDING.
WATTON-SHARLAND.
The wedding took place at the Wellington Parish Church on Saturday of Miss Rose May WATTON, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. H. WATTON, of Church Fields, Wellington, and Mr. Leslie George SHARLAND, second son of Mr. and Mrs. G. SHARLAND, of Silver-street, Milverton. The Rev. J. H. D. GRINTER, the Vicar of Wellington, officiated.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ankle-length blue ring velvet dress, with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Her attendants were her sister, Miss Phyllis WATTON, and Miss Phyllis SHARLAND, sister of the bridegroom. They wore ankle-length dresses of floral art silk crepe and hats to tone. They received crystal necklaces from the bridegroom. The mothers of both the bride and bridegroom wore blue silk marocain dresses. Mr. Stanley SHARLAND, the bridegroom's brother, was “best man.”
After the ceremony a reception was held at Swallowfield House, when about 35 guests attended.
The numerous presents included a large mirror, presented to the bride from her fellow workers at the Winder's Weaving Shed, Tonedale.
