HONOUR FOR BAPTIST PASTOR

10 YEARS' WORK IN PARISH

The Rev. S. R. WARD celebrated the 10th anniversary of his pastorate at the Baptist Churches of Fivehead and Ile Abbots on Monday, when the Committee of the Western Baptist Churches held their Committee meeting in the church the same day he was elected president for the ensuing year.

A social tea was provided for friends and members of the churches, Mrs. WARD and the deacons' wives being responsible for the splendid catering, assisted by Mrs. Sidney SALWAY (caretaker). A public meeting was presided over by Mr. T. S. PENNY, of Taunton, and addresses given by the Chairman and the Rev. A. G. BULL and Dr. NIXON, the new area superintendent. Prayer was offered by the Rev. Emlyn JONES, of Weymouth.

The Pastor kindly thanked all the friends for their help, and said he had spent a very happy ten years among them. A united Communion service was conducted by the Pastor, and a good number of friends from other churches joined in the service, which formed a fitting conclusion to the New Year's birthday celebration.
