LETHBRIDGE, vicar of Barrington (who conducted the service).  The service was choral and was under the direction of Mr. B. J. TITFORD, the organist and choir-master.  Hymn 222 (Ancient and Modern) was sung in church, and hymn 429 at the grave.  As the corpse was carried in and out of church soft voluntaries were played by the organist.  The sexton (Mr BRAY) bestowed much care upon the grave, surrounding it with ivy interspersed with white flowers.  The coffin was of polished oak with brass fittings, the inscription at the foot being, “Charlotte MULES, died Nov. 23rd, 1884, aged 68 years.”  The coffin was covered with a purple velvet pall, upon which were placed wreaths of choice flowers.  Great respect was shown by the parishioners for the deceased and her family, many attending the service attired in mourning.  The blinds of the house on the way to church, were drawn during the funeral.
