FIVEHEAD.

CLUB ANNIVERSARY. - On Wednesday last, the 4th inst., the second anniversary of the Friendly Society was celebrated. The members, numbering 70, met at the Fox-hound Inn at one o'clock p.m., and after the roll had been called over by the highly-esteemed clerk, Mr. J. CAMPION, they formed into procession, headed by the Curry Mallet Brass Band, and a beautiful garland, carried by two young men. Then came the members attired in light dresses, and wearing head-dresses of various shapes. After parading the village, they proceeded to church, where the Rev. A. MILLET preached an excellent sermon to them, taking for his text the 19th Psalm and the 9th verse. After the service was over, they again formed into procession and returned to the Fox Hound Inn, where an excellent tea awaited them, laid out in a marquee in a field near the Inn. The tea was got up by Host and Hostess HARVEY. The marquee was decorated with flowers, mottoes, &c. Mr. D. BLAKE, of Langport, the treasurer of the society, occupied the chair. There were also present Dr. HILL, North Curry; F. LAMBERT, Fivehead; Mrs LAMBERT, Miss LAMBERT, Mrs. HARCOMBE, Mrs. POTTER, Miss ROUSWELL, Mrs. CHAMPION, Miss GANGE, &c. Soon after tea, the chairman vacated his seat, when the members adjourned to the field, where they enjoyed themselves with various games, dancing, kiss-in-the-ring, &c., until the shades of evening set in. This society is established for seven years, and this was its second anniversary. It has a capital of £33 18s. The bells, throughout the day, sent forth their merry peals.
