FIVEHEAD.

FIRST INTERMENT UNDER THE NEW ACT. - On Tuesday, a solemn and interesting service took place in connection with the funeral of the late Mr. Milton Judson COMPSTON, eldest surviving son of the Rev. John COMPSTON, Baptist minister, of Fivehead. The venerable and esteemed Vicar (Rev. R. W. LAMBERT) took the service in the church, and the Rev. E. CURTIS, together with M. R. KILLIP, of Wearne, had charge of the service in the burial ground. Two suitable hymns were sung, and a touching anthem by D. F. HODGES, “I heard a voice from heaven,” was feelingly rendered by the chapel choir. A large concourse of people followed the funeral, but the proceedings were exceedingly reverent and orderly, and much satisfaction was expressed at the evidence of good feeling amongst Church people and Nonconformists in the parish.
