Sale of Schooner
James Durbin to Samuel Settoon
25 November 1819

Be it Known that this day before me, James McKee, notary public in and for the said parish duly Commissioned, personally appeared James Durbin of the parish aforesaid, who declared that for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty dollars, to him in hand paid, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do by these presents grant, bargain, and sell unto Samuel Sattoon, his heirs and assigns, the said party being also present and accepting, his one half share of a schooner called the Batchaller of Bayou Saint John, together with all her sails, rigging, ... and furniture which vessel is ... at the Custom house of the ... of ..., to have and to hold, the said one half of said schooner unto the said Samuel Settoon, his heirs and assigns, to their proper use and behoof, for ever, and the said James Durbin for himself and his heirs, the said part of said schooner to the said Samuel Settoon, his heirs and assigns, against all and every person and persons, whomsoever, shall and will warrant, and forever defend by these presents.

Done and passed at St. Helena in presence of Lewis Woolf and L. H. Moore, witnesses who have hereunto signed their names, together with the parties and me, the said notary, this Eleventh day of September, one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen.

Note 25 November 1819 Chester Eldridge sold his part of schooner Batchelor of Bayou St. John to Samuel Settoon for $240.
