Elijah Sattoon to Robert Palmer
26 April 1828

Be it remembered that on this twenty sixth day of April in the Year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight before me, Burlin Childress parish Judge, and ex officio notary public in and for the parish of St. Helena, State of Louisiana personally appeared Robert Palmer, of said parish, who produced an instrument of writing and requested the same to be admitted of record in the words and figures following To Wit:

Know all men by these presents that I, Elijah Sattoon of the parish of St. Helena, State of Louisiana, have this day for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Robert Palmer of the aforesaid parish before the signing of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold, assigned, transferred and set over, and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, assign, transfer and set over unto the aforesaid Robert Palmer, the schooner Admiral with her tackle and apparel hereunto belonging, to have and to hold, the aforesaid schooner, Admiral of Springfield, unto the said Robert Palmer, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever and the said Elijah Sattoon, for himself, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns unto the said Robert Palmer, his heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, shall and will warrant the said Schooner Admiral free from any incumbrance or free from the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whomsoever, now or hereafter claiming firmly by these presents.

Done and passed in the parish of St. Helena, State aforesaid, the twenty sixth day of April. A D. one thousand eight hundred and twenty eight in presence of Edward Gorman and William Thompson subscribing witnesses, the said parties being also present, agreeing, signing and accepting these presents.

Be it remembered that having fully compared the foregoing instrument of writing and finding it to agree in all respects with the original, I have returned said original to the party who produced it for record and declare the same duly recorded the day & year above written.
