David Gaines to Reuben Bevers
21 June 1819Be it Known that this day before me, James McKee, Esq. notary Public in and for the said parish, duly Commissioned, personally appeared David Gains of the parish and state aforesaid, who declared that for the consideration of the sum of two hundred Dollars in hand paid by Reuben Beavers to said Gains before the signing and sealing &..., do by these presents grant, bargain and sell unto unto [repeated] the said Beavers his heirs and assigns (the said party being also present and accepting) the same all that measure? or tract of Land, situate on the west side of Tanchipaho [sic] in the parish aforesaid, containing as supposed? six hundred and forty acres more or less fronting on Tanchipaho, bounded below by Jeremiah Durbin, above by Henry Franklin & back by vacant Lands, to have hold use, cultivate, inherit, ..., sell, or otherwise dispose of said bargained premises as to him or them may or shall seem proper, from the right, title, interest, claim or demand of me, the said Gains, my heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns, and all other, claiming by, through or under us, or either of us, and no further, with all the right, members, privileges and appurtenances then unto belonging or in any wear appertaining; to have and to hold, the said bargained and devised premises, unto the said Bevers, His hers and assigns, to their proper use and behoof for Ever, and the said Gains for himself, his heirs, Executors, administrators and assigns, against all and Every person, and persons, whomsoever, claiming the same under me or my heirs, to the said Bevers, his heirs and assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents;
Done and passed at St. Helena in presence of William Kinchin and Samuel Richardson, subscribing witnesses who have hereunto signed their names together with the parties and me, the said notary, this twenty first day of June, in the year one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen.
