Sylvester G. Parsons to August T. McNeill
03 June 1833

Be it Known that on this third day of June in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred and thirty three, I Sylvester G. Parsons sheriff of the Parish of Livingston in the State aforesaid by virtue of a writ of fieri facias to me directed from the Honorable the Parish Court of St. Helena, to satisfy a Judgement issued in said Court in the suit of R. C. Oden use of Michael McKay vs. Jonathan and Isail Dreggers, did proceed to execute said writ by siezing [sic] upon a tract of Land said to belong to said Dreggers situated in the of Livingston on the Ponchatoula River and the yellow water creek, and bounded above on said River by Lands belonging to the Estate of John Sims, dec�d, and below on said River by Lands of E. T. Murray, and said Tract of Land containing Four hundred and Eighty acres, more or less; and after advertising the same for sale according to Law, did proceed to sell the same having first notified the parties to appear and name appraisers as directed by Law, and having also procured the certificate of the register of mortgages, certifying that there were no other liens or incumbrances on said property excepting a claim of Title drawn to Jacob Smith and Isaac Kemp and also having said property appraised & sworn to by Thomas Kennedy and E. T. Murray; when after reading the above named certificate from the Parish Judge and crying? said property it was finally adjudicated to A. T. McNiell, he being the highest and best bidder, for the sum of one hundred and Twenty Dollars Cash in hand paid according to the terms stated previous to crying the same and it being two thirds of the appraised value thereof, which adjudication was made on Saturday the first instant.

Now therefore I, S. G. Parsons, Sheriff, as aforesaid, for and in consideration of the sum above mentioned, do hereby transfer, convey, assign, and set over, all of the right, Title, interest, and claim that the said Jonathan and Isaih Dreggers have or possessed in or to the before described tract of Land at the time of said seizure or the selling of the same; to him the said August T. McNeill his heirs and assigns forever; and George Richardson, here present by virtue of a power of attorney from said McNiell, agrees to accept of this said sale for the said McNiell and acknowledges possession and delivery of the premises aforesaid,
