[*Tombstone not verified, but surely it says d. Feb 7, 1871 for the following reasons:  (1) Daviess County wasn't settled in 1821; (2) a "7" is often confused with a "2" in old-style stones; (3) genealogical researcher L.R. Glover has other evidence of death date as Feb 7, 1871; (4) a separate transcription by the DAR says "David Brown d. 2-7-1871 age 52 yrs. 6 mo. 20 da.".  This DAR transcription was also indexed by Cynthia Robinson and is also found in her index.]
