Reid or Wiggins Cemetery
Jefferson township, Daviess county, Missouri
Location: From the intersection of Hwy 6 and I-35 (exit 64) take Hwy 6 west 1 1/2 miles to 112 St. Turn left (south) and go 1/2 mile. Reid Cemetery lies 1/4 mile down a path west (right) off 112 St at this point. There is a small sign in front of a private residence on the side of the road pointing to the path to take you to the cemetery. The path is for off-road vehicles but is easily reached by walking; it goes down, curves left around a grove of trees, then heads uphill where you will see the cemetery on your right. A transcription of Reid cemetery was made by Mrs Ollie Houghton and Mrs Flora Maye Beeler, and was copied by Mrs Flora Maye Beeler for the Gallatin Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Our transcription has some differences from their excellent work based on our reading of stones. Disclaimer: some stones are difficult to read. Moreover, errors invariably creep into any transcription project. Some graves have no markers. Researchers are advised to check the data herein. Abbreviations and notations:
