Deceased Name: Violet Ross Violet "Babe" Robinson Ross
95, of Hillsboro, formerly of Springfield, died Wednesday at Hillsboro Area Hospital.
She was born Feb. 16, 1903, in Bunker Hill, the daughter of Otis Hiram and Hettie L. Sawyer Scroggins. She was preceded in death by two husbands, Herman Hyme Robinson in 1951, and Charles F. Ross in 1973. Mrs. Ross had worked as a clothing store manager and was a resident of Springfield for most of her life.
Survivors: a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Marie Swain) Simmons of Coffeen; a son, Milton "Buddy" Weiters of Pana; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Tony (Jessie Etta) Dolenc of Auburn.
Services: 2 p.m. Saturday, Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, the Rev. Bill Baughman officiating. Burial: Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

AUBURN - Tony Dolenc, 94, of Auburn died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2001, at Lynncrest Manor in Auburn.
He was born Jan. 11, 1907, in Mineral, Kan., the son of Anton and Mary Bergant Dolenc. He married Jessie Scroggins in 1926 in Springfield; she preceded him in death in 2000.
Mr. Dolenc was a coal miner for many years before retirement and a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 8157 in Auburn.
Survivors: three daughters, Joyce Sheppard of Gwinn, Mich., and Marge (husband, Frank) Divjak and Mary Lou (husband, LaVerne) Eliason, both of Auburn; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Frank (wife, Clara) Dolenc of Delray Beach, Fla.; a sister, Mary Rutkoski of Auburn; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. Dec. 1 at Auburn Cemetery.
Bramley Funeral Home in Auburn was in charge of arrangements.

- Funeral serices were conducted this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at Staunton for Tony Page, whose death occurred yeasterday at the home of a half brother, Ed Scroggins, of Bunker Hill. The rites were conducted by Reb. Otto Horsley of the Methodist Church of Bunker Hill and interment was in the City Cemetery.
- Mr. Page was born in Staunton and spent his entire life there with the exception of the past several months. He was 49 years of age. He is survived by two half brothers, Ed Scroggins of Bunker Hill and Otto Scroggins of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Violet B. Robinson Ross, (nee Scroggins), 95, of Hillsboro, Illinois, formerly of Springfield, Illinois, died Wednesday, April 15, 1998 at Hillsboro Hospital.
She was born February 16, 1903 in Bunker Hill, Illinois.
She lived most of her life in the Springfield area, and had worked as a clothing store manager.
She married Herman Hyme Robinson on Jan. 10, 1940 in Palmyra, Mo. and he preceded her in death on May 3, 1951. She married Charles F. Ross on July 1, 1960 in Pana, IL, and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1973.
Surviving are her daughter, Mrs. Frank (Marie) Swain Simmons of Coffeen, IL; her son Milton "Buddy" Weiters and his wife Marie of Pana, IL; 1 sister, Mrs. Tony (Jessie Etta) Dolenc of Auburn, IL; 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Milton, Robert and Edward Scroggins and by 1 grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 1998 at PATTON MEMORIAL HOME, Hillsboro, IL, Rev. Bill Baughman, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Hillsboro officiating.
Visitation will be held at Patton Memorial Home, Hillsboro, IL on Friday, April 17, 1998 from 6 to 8 PM. Burial at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, in Springfield.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
