Report of Town Clerk
In submitting this report ending with December 31, 1874, I have to say that
in making it up I have adopted a very different course from any heretofore
pursued by me.
While in former reports I have given all the information required by the
By-Laws of the Town, it has been mostly statistical, affording no opportunity
for the correction of errors which such reports may happen to contain. I have
therefore, in this report, given you the names and dates, so far as I am able,
of all the births and marriages happening in the Town, or of parties living in
the Town, while in the registration of deaths I have given you the names, ages,
date of death, cause of death , and place of birth for the purpose of affording
opportunity to all interested of correcting errors and omissions in the record
herewith presented. I regret that the record shows so many persons to have died
on the anniversary of their birthday.
