James Madden Sr! of Montour and State of Pennsylvania being of sound and disposing
May 5th 1873 ! mind and memory Do make and decree this my last Will and
! testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made.
Item 1st I will that all such just debts as shall be by me owing at my death together with my funeral expenses and all charges touching the proving of or otherwise concerning this my will shall in the first place out of my personal estate and effects be fully paid and satisfied

Item 2, It is my will that my executor herein after named shall as soon as convenient after my death sell the residue of my real estate at either public or private sale hereby em powering him to fulfil all contracts or agreements by me made in regard to the sale already
effected or that I may make during my life, also authorizing and empowering him to Deed
and convey all my Real Estate
Item 3 It is my will that after my property is disposed of as aforementioned that my estate be divided as follows viz: Share and Share alike with my following named children and Grand children subject to such restrictions and trusts as are herein mentioned

Item 4, It is my will that the portion of my estate accruing to my daughter Julia Ann shall be for the sole use and benefit of herself and the children. Also the portion accruing to my son David shall be for the use of his wife and children and not subject in any wise to the control_of my said son David
Item 5th It is my Will that the Grave Yard on my farm be not included in the sale of my real estate but excepted and remain a burying ground for my kindred
Item 6th I hereby nominate and appoint William A. Dean of Limestone township Executor of this my last Will and Testament. In witness whereof I the said Testator James Madden Sr have to this my last Will and Testament set my hand and seal this twenty fifth day of January A. D. one thousand eight hundred and sixty eight

by the said testator James Madden Sr. as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto

This day before me William C. Johnston Registrer for the Probate of Wills and granting Letters of administration in and for the county aforesaid personally came Jesse Umstead(?) and Moses B. Stecker the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing Will who being duly sworn according to the law do say that they were present and saw and heard James Madden the Testator sign seal publish pronounce(?) and declare the foregoing instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament and that at the time of so doing he was of sound disposing mind memory and understanding to the best
