The John SCHNEIDER family arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania May 16, 1881 on the ship Zeeland from Antwerp, Belgium. A daughter and her husband Louise SCHNEIDER and John ROBERTS stayed in the area moving to Pittsburgh. Like many recent immigrants the SCHNEIDER's changed the spelling of their last name to SNYDER during World War I. Some in the family changed back to SCHNEIDER some stayed SNYDER and most are found under both spellings.
