It is believe our first True ancestor was Simon True, born in 1787 in England. He emigrated to America about 1810. Our line descends through his son, Samuel B. True, who was born in New York and married Irene Fairbanks from Ireland.
Samuel's son, William H. True was born in Schnectady, New York in 1836. He moved to Noble County, Indiana by 1850 and married Maria Simmons there. Their son Commodore Perry True was born there.
As a young man Commodore Perry True went to Kansas to work on the railroad. He later return to Indiana, married Flora May Eggart. Their first two children were born in Indiana before they made a permanent move to Kansas. Their remaining children were born in Ness County, Kansas.
Commodore Perry True True worked as a cream tester at a dairy in Great Bend, Kansas.
About 1916 Commodore Perry True bought a farm near Thurbur, Texas and kept books for the T.P. Oil and Coal Company in Palo Pinto, Texas. A year later Flora May Eggart made the trip with the younger children to settle in Strawn, Palo Pinto County, Texas. The family returned to Kansas several times after that to conduct business.
