Henry F. Leverenz has been the efficient Principal of the Eighth Ward School at Sheboygan since the beginning of the school year of 1891, and has been engaged in teaching in Sheboygan County since 1888. Mr. Leverenz was born in the town of Charlestown, Calumet County, Wis., November 21, 1862. His father, John Leverenz, was an early settler of that county, where he still resides.

Henry F. Leverenz is the eldest of a family of seven children, consisting of four sons and three daughters. He was reared to the occupation of farming, attending in his early you the public school of his district, and later he and his brothers attended the High School at Chilton. He taught a district school during two winters, and in 1881 entered the State Normal School at Oshkosh. He taught school and attended the Normal Alternately until he completed the course, graduating in the Class of `88.

After our subject's graduation he was employed as Principal of the graded school at Waldo. He conducted this school very successfully for three years, establishing in the mean time a prosperous High School. In 1891, as stated, he accepted the principal ship at Sheboygan. This school is a large one, enrolling, in 1893, eight hundred and seventy-six pupils, and employing fifteen teachers. Under the principal ship of Mr. Leverenz, it has become very efficient.

On August 22, 1889, Mr. Leverenz was united in marriage to Miss Clara Wegner, a daughter of Rev. H. Wegner, a well-known Methodist clergyman. The bride was born in Fond du Lac, Wis., October 13, 1866, but resided with her parents many years in Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Leverenz have two sons, Harvey and Edwin.
