MURPHY, Hugh - BROWNE, Laura

DUNDEE

The marriage of Miss Laura Browne to Hugh Murphy of Knowles took place July 24th, at the church of the Sacred Heart, Rev. G.A. Haeusler performing the wedding ceremony. At 8:30 o'clock the bridal party entered the church, to the strains of "Bridal Bells March," played by Dan Calvey upon the violin, Miss Rose Skelton acted as his accompanist. The bride was attired in a gown of white fucine silk, wore a large picture hat and carried a bouquet of bride's roses. She was attended by her sister, Miss Crissy Browne, who wore a suit of blue chiffon de laine and carried pink carnations. The groom was attended by his brother P.H. Murphy of Oakfield. Marie Barber and Edyth Browne acted as flower girls, carrying large bouquets of red carnations and ferns. After the ceremony at the church a reception followed at the home of the brides parents Mr. and Mrs. A. Browne, at which the following people were entertained Messrs. and Mesdames P.H. Calvey of Fond du Lac, Thos. Fitzgerald, Dotyville, E. Bowen, M. Calvey, Dundee, Rev. G.A. and Miss Mary Haeusler and George Twohig, Armstrong, Miss Bid Kilcoyne and brother George, Miss Katie Murphy and brother Will of Milwaukee, P.H. Murphy of Oakfield, Mrs. Cecelia Calvey and sons Dan and Will, Miss Rose Skelton, Mitchell, Mrs. Ed. Calvey, North Fond du Lac, Tom Fuller, Mrs. Ellen Butler and son Thomas of Parnell.

Miss Browne was one of Fond du Lac county's most successful teachers having been engaged in that work for the past eight years and enjoys the esteem and respect of vast numbers of friends. Mr. Murphy is a young man of pleasing address and commands the liking and regard of his host of friends. He is manager of the stone and lime quarries at Knowles, where he has established a cosy (sic) home for his bride.
