Richard Bramley

Rob Bramley writes (2007):

We appear to have an error in the "tree" concerning Richard Bramley, born circa 1755 at Elston, son of William Bramley and Mary Crosby.  During the past month or so I have been in contact with someone in York who has been trying to establish his family starting with Richard.  He has been able to confirm that Richard married Ann Elliott on 8 May 1794 in Basford.  However, although Richard's father was called William, that's where the connection ends.  In this case Richard was born circa 1772, his father was born in Basford, and his mother was Elizabeth Stubbings - details of Richard and Ann etc are appended to this note.

Perhaps "our" Richard, the miller, moved to Bilsthorpe (??) as suggested by Jean and Eric.  I have requested someone to conduct a search to try and establish what became of Richard and at the same time look for other family members of whom we know very little.   I'll let you know of the results when he reports back to me.
