Frederick (Eric) Taylor TRENBATH, b. JUN 1887, , , Newcastle on Tyne, NBL, occupation Soldier, d. 30 Oct 1917, , , Poicapelle, Belgium. Killed in action at Poicapelle. Poicapelle is in Belgium,NE of Ypres and near to Paschendaele. His number was 761499. A private in the 1st Artists rifles - the 28th (County of London) Regiment, which is affiliated to the Rifle brigade. The records of which are now kept at Winchester, but I was told that they do not have any on the Artist's Rifles - ?destroyed in war. Ref'Soldiers died in the Great War, London regiment, p 210, seen at Portsmouth PRO Kew - He was a Private no 6860 and seems to have had another number at a later date: 761499. He was awarded the Victory and the British medals. ref Tp28/101B page 47. Check again to see if it says that he was killed in action.

FRC Index: 66603. London. Vol 1.86 p 370.

Note that there is another entry for Frederick Trenbath, Private 66603. North Fusileers. Ref. given is 1918 vol 1.31 p 320. This is probably another Frederick - perhaps someone can tell me.
