| Hello, my name is Susan (GARDNER) FRYE. I am currently, and have been for the past
five years, building my genealogy web site. I have been digging up my family roots
now for about seven years. |
| My cousin got me interested in this project
after I retired. She had started the research and turned everything over to
me. You see, "I have much more time, now that I am retired" and, of
course, have nothing better to do! |
| Well, what started as a project to fill all
that extra time which I now have, bloomed into a very time consuming hobby. I would
now call it a job. Not an unpleasant one, but a job which I do my best to tend to, a
little every day. |
| My goal is to provide the history of my
family from as far back as I am able to find information, through to the present.
And to find a few cousins along the way, also gathering their family's branches and twigs. |
| To date, I have made contact with nine
cousins and have started several budding friendships of others with the same family names
whom are willing to share what they so diligently cultivated but couldn't connect to their
families. |
| My research has knocked down the brick walls
of my garden and let in both rare, exotic plants and a few unruly weeds in which to add to
my tree. |
| My maiden name is GARDNER and the paternal
names of ACKLEY and CARTWRIGHT were known to
me when I started my research. With the meeting of two new cousins, I have added two
generations and the names of HODGE and SEAMAN to the GARDNER branch of my tree. With the discovery of research done by others on
the ACKLEY surname I was able to add four generations and many
more names to that branch. |
| The maternal names of DONNELLY, FIELD, THOM and BEARD were known to me
and my cousin had the names of ANDERSON, CLUKIES, WATTLEY and URQUHART but didn't know
where they fit in. After meeting five new cousins, I have been able to identify the
connection and add many more names to the DONNELLY, CLUKIES, WATTLEY and THOM branches. |
| On the FRYE family tree, I had
the names, FRY, BAEHR, GRAMM, DEUS, STAPLES, ROBBINS and EDSON but didn't know
any of those families' roots. After meeting three more cousins, I have added
information on these names and though I still have brick walls, I have so many new names
to add, it will probably take me another couple of years to update my web site. |
