• Advertised in the Royal Gazette (New York City NY), 28 Mar 1781, as PEARSALL & EMBREE, announcing their move to the corner of Beekman's Slip, “where they continue to repair watches as usual. They have likewise for sale, a general assortment of watches — gold, silver, metal, engraved, Tortoiseshell, & warranted good, and on the best terms. Also a large assortment of Silver Work, Watch Chains, Seals, Keys, &c.”

• He worked from 1789 to 1795 as a silversmith and clockmaker in New York City NY with a shop at 185 Queen Street.

• Advertised in the Daily Advertiser (New York City NY), 23 Feb 1791,
  Just come to hand, and for sale, By Effingham Embree, Clock and Watch Maker, No. 185, Queen Street, a few elegant gold and gilt watches, gold chains, seals and keys, ladies elegant beaded watch chains, and a few very highly finished men's steel, do. with a number of other articles. E. Embree has still on hand, a handsome assortment of clocks and watches, silver and plated ware, jewellery, &c.
