• Advertised in the The Albany Gazette (Albany NY), Jan 1805, announcing, under the heading "Gold and Silver Smith and Jeweller," that he had commenced business in State Street a few doors below the State Bank, and would give the highest price for old gold and silver, or exchange same for new. ³⁶

• He was a partner from circa 1806 to 1830 with William Boyd in Albany NY as SHEPHERD & BOYD, with a shop at 136 Market Street. ⁴

They also note that "They continue to manufacture silver tea setts, table, tea and soup spoons, sugar tiongs, fish and butter knives, tumblers, &c. &c."
