We have the pleasure to acknowledge the receipt of your letter of 27th July last covering invoice of BM & Plated Goods. We repeat the word Pleasure, for in so doing we fully intend the word to have its full effect. We unhesitatingly say that we have never received any goods of the like in such good order & expect same good packing in future. We again invest you with open order for £200 to be invested in something new, useful & fanciful. Your Mr. J. W. Dixon with whom we have the [pleasure?] of his aquaintance, can give our ideas, the order to be executed without delay & forwarded to W & J Brown & Co in whom draw as usual.

    My Very Dear Parents

Since forwarding my last I have been under the necessity of consulting Dr Buchler [?] an emminent physician, having had "the chills & fevers" but am happy to say am much recovered, (but very careful). Our Plate is making way here. Harrold will forward a pretty order in a few days for this place. Palmer was very much pleased with the last lot. As for House information, I feel entirely lost, only hearing once a month. More would be valued.

    Yours J W Dixon
