• He was a partner from 1830 to 1831 with Joel White in Athens GA as B. B. LORD & Co. The firm offered for sale gold and silver watches, watch chains, keys, seals, rings, breast pins, etc. They repaired watches and clocks and regularly advertised watches, jewelry made from Georgia gold, silver table and teaspoons, spectacles, tea and coffee "setts," etc. The partnership was dissolved on 01 November by White's retirement. ¹⁵

• He worked from 1831 to 1833 as a silversmith in Athens GA ¹⁶

• He was a partner from 2 Nov 1833 to 21 Jan 1836 with Ebenezer Lord and W. P. Sage in Athens GA as B. B. LORD & Co. The firm continued working much as the former proprietors had done and musical instruments were added to the stock. ¹⁶

• He was a partner from 1836 to 1838 with Ebenezer Lord in Athens GA as B. B. LORD & Co. In August 1836 they moved next to the drug store kept by Ebenezer Lord and a Mr. Reese. ¹⁶

• He worked from 1838 to 1840 as a silversmith in Athens GA as B. B. LORD & Co., continuing the firm after the death of his brother, Ebenezer. In June 1838 he secured the services of G. M. Griffen "whose reputation as a watchmaker increased with the years." ¹⁶
