  Events in his life were:

• Went to Pennsylvania at age 16, perhaps to serve apprenticeship. Back in New Garden by 21 April 1807, when he announced removal to Charlotte where he would commence watchmaking, clockmaking, gold- and silversmithing in partnership with Andrew McBride. Involved in various real estate transactions in Charlotte in 1812 and 1813. ²¹

Barzillai married Mary Long about 1810 in Cane Creek Orange NC.
