  • There is some debate whether this Miles Gorham was actually a smith, though there is no logical reason for Miles Sr to have added Jr to his mark. 1
  • Advertised in the Connecticut Courant & Weekly Advertiser, 7 Mar 1805-28 Mar 1805, offering his services to the public as gold- and silversmith "at the sign of the Eagle opposite J. Butler's Hotel, Church St. received for sale pearl & tortoise shell fancy work, gold mounted segar boxes beads, mourning rings, silver table, dessert spoons, sugar tongs, fish knives . . . . " Also wanted boy 14 or 15 years as apprentice. 3
