• Providence RI, 1818: he was one of the organizers of the First Light Infantry of Providence, along with fellow silversmiths Stanton Beebe, Pardon Miller, Samuel Davis, and Jonathan Nichols. ³

• He worked from 1820 to 1850 as a silversmith and jeweler in Providence RI
Listed in the New England Mercantile Union Business Directory, 1824-1849 with a shop at 55 Westminster Street.

• Advertised in the The Providence Gazette (Providence RI), 29 May 1822, reporting his removal to 57 Westminister Row where he offers for sale ". . . jewelry, watches, fine gold beads, and silver spoons . . . and gives cash for old gold and silver." ³

• Advertised in the Newport Mercury, 1840, offering ornamental hairwork, French ringlet curls on combs, silver baskets, jewelry repair, and combs. ⁴

Samuel married Mary Eddy on 29 Dec 1823 in Westport MA. (Mary Eddy was born on 7 Jan 1802 in Massachusetts and died on 19 Apr 1852 in Providence RI.)
