     Map of Main Street and North River Area in 1700. This map by Perley shows a fulling mill by the mill pond. Built by John Trask in 1692 on the site of the first mill built by Capt. William Trask in 1634. According to historians, Capt. William Trask C. 1634 built what was possibly the first grist mill in America by the mill pond near Peabody Square.
