James W. Frederick, 73, of Allentown died Tuesday in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Jean E. (Kranch) Frederick. They would have been married 51 years today.
He was a printer for George P. Schlicher & Son, Allentown, for 20 years until retiring in 1987. Previously, he worked for Kutztown Publishing Co. for 20 years.
Born in Claussville, he was a son of the late Victor J. and Ethel M. (Whitner) Frederick.
He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Allentown, where he was an elder, deacon and Sunday school teacher.
He was an Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors: Wife; son, James W. Jr. of Dublin, N.H.; daughter, Janet K. Linsenbigler of Allentown, and five grandchildren.

Jean E. JeanE Frederick, 83, of Allentown, died Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008 in St. Lukes Hospital, Allentown Campus. She was the wife of the late James W. Frederick Sr. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Hilbert H. and Florence J. (Mertz) Kranch. She was a subscription office clerk for Automobile Quarterly, Kutztown, for seven years. Previously, Jean was a clerk in the decorating and card writer department of Hess Brothers department store for two years and an elevator operator at Lehs department store. She was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, Trexlertown. Previously, she was a member of St. Pauls United Church of Christ, Kutztown, where she was a 19-year member of its Womens Guild and a choir member for many years. Jean had also been a member of the former Trinity U.C.C., where she was a 40-year member and past president of its Womens Guild and served as its crafts chairperson for the annual bizarre for many years. JeanEs favorite past time was crafts and just prior to her death, she was still finding enjoyment in making special items.
Survivors: Son, James W. Jr. in Vermont; grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Jason, Jocelyn, Ian; great-granddaughter; sister-in-law, Geraldine L. Wenner of Allentown; nieces, nephews. A daughter, Janet K. Linsenbigler, preceded her in death.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Stephens Funeral Home Inc., 1335-37 W. Linden St., Allentown. Call 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Rapp was the wife of Leon Rapp. Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late William J. and Gertrude Bachman Kressler.

Mrs. Elizabeth Wolff, 78, Eastwood Home, Wilson died yesterday in the home. Her husband Herman D. Wolff, died in 1968. He was founder and former secretary and treasurer of Kressler, Wolff and Miller. Easton insurance firm.

Mrs. Wolff was born in Easton on July 9, 1898, a daughter of the late William J. and Gertrude Bachman Kressler. After being graduated from Easton High School in 1917, she taught school in West Easton. Later she was assistant librarian at the Easton Public Library.

Mrs. Wolff was a past president of the Easton Children's Home and life member of the First United Church of Christ, Easton. She was a member of the George Taylor Chapter, DAR, and Planned Parenthood and Tuberculosis societies, all of Easton.

Survivng are a son, Ahlert D. of Easton; a daughter, Mrs. Robert C. Ferris, Fairport, NY; a brother, John H. Kressler, Easton; a sister, Mrs. William Cain, Manchester, NH, and five grandchildren.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the First United church of Christ, Easton. Interment wil be in Easton Cemetery. Arrangements are in charge of the Shillinger Funeral Home, Easton.

Founder and Former Secretary-Treasurer Of Easton Firm, Board of Trade Official

Herman D. Wolff, 80, a founder and former secretary-treasurer of Kressler, Wolff & Miller, Inc., died this morning in the Eastwood Convalescent Home, Wilson, where he was a guest since last May. His home was at 1321 Bushkill St.

Mrs. Wolff and the late Kenneth F. Kressler founded the company in 1923. He retired in 1962.

Born Aug 16, 19887, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Max A. and Christian Horst Wolff, he lived in Easton since 1913.

He was graduated from Central High School, Philadelphia, in 1907, and from Gettysburg College in 1910. He was a former president of the Easton Kiwanis Club and the Easton Board of Trade.

Mr. Wolff was a member of First United Church of Christ, Easton; the Country Club of Northampton County, the Forest Lake Club of Pike County, Dallas Lodge 396, F&AM, Easton; Lehigh Consistory, Allentown, and Brown & Lynch Post, American Legion, Easton. He was an Air Force observer in World War I.

Survivors include his widow the former Elizabeth Kressler; a son, Ahlert D. Wolff, Easton; a daughter, Mrs. Robert C. Ferris, Fairport, NY and five Grandchildren.

Mrs. Norton was born in Easton, a daughter of the late William J. and Gertrude Bachman Kressler. Her first husband, Charles W. Law, died in 1928.

She was a member of the Episcopal Church and the Woman's Club of Westport.

Survivors include a son, Charles W. Law Jr., Endicott, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. Anna K. Hall and Mrs. Herman D. Wolff, both of Easton, and Mrs. William L. Cain of Manchester, N.H.; two brothers, Kenneth F. and John H. Kressler, both of Easton and two grandchildren.

Charles W. Law Dies of Injuries
Husband of Former Easton Girl Never Regained Consciousness
Charles Webb Law, Ellicotville, N.Y., whose wife was formerly Miss Charlotte Kressler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William J. Kressler, of 205 Easton Madison Street, South Side, died at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon in the Champlain Valley Hospital, Plattsburg, N.Y., from injuries he sustained last Saturday when a cable broke at Lyon Mountain, N.Y., where he was superintendent for the Chateguay Coal and Iron Company, and strunk him on the head, facturing his skull. He never regained consciousness.

Mr. Law was 35 years of age. He was a graduate of Ohio Wesleyan University and was a veteran of World War. It was while serving overseas that he met Councilman Kenneth F. Kressler. The couple returned to this country together and Mr. Law eventually married Mr. Kresser's sister. Besides his widow, he is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius Macintosh Law, of Ellicotville, N.Y., and by two sisters, Miss Hollice Law and Miss Agnes Law, both of New York City. Mr. Law was a a member of the Episcopal church and of the Masonic order at Ellicotville. The funeral will be held tomorrow with services and interment at Ellicotville. Deceased was well known by many Eastonians, having been a frequent visitor here and his friends here will learn with deep regret of his untimely death.

He was the husband of Nancy (Labate) Kressler. They observed their 52nd wedding anniversary last November. Kressler was a teacher at Easton Area High School from 1931 until retiring in 1971. In addition, he was the school's football coach, 1931-35, and later assistant coach for many years. He organized the first junior high school football program in Easton. He was named Easton's Schoolman of the Year in 1963. A 1927 graduate of Lafayette College, Kressler played center on its football team and also held down the same spot at Easton High. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late William J. and Gertrude (Bachman) Kressler. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Easton. He was a captain in the Army Air Corps during World War II. She worked for the Northampton County Republican Committee for more than 30 years before retiring in 1984. Previously, she worked for Lafayette Trust Bank. Born in Easton, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Frances (Azzolina) Labate. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Easton. She was a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Republican Women, AARP Paxinosa Chapter and Order of the Eastern Star, Easton. Survivors: Daughter, Judith with whom she resided; sisters, Grace Smith of Fort Worth, Texas, Teresa Johnson of Warwick, Pa.. Services: 11 a.m. Friday in the church. No calling hours. Arrangements, Ashton Funeral Home, Easton. Contributions: To the church, Hospice of Naples, Fla., or Alzheimer's Support Network, North Naples, Fla.
