This Web site has been set up to assist people researching their roots in Derbyshire. It contains a list of Derbyshire paper mills and a list of papermakers who worked in them. Dates range from late 18th c. to early 20th. 

The mills and papermakers listed here all appear in "Some Notes on Derbyshire Paper Mills, Part 1 & Part 2"  by Tanya Schmoller. These articles appeared in the January 1994 and March 1994 issues of The Quarterly, The review of the British Association of Paper Historians. Back issues of this journal can be ordered from the BAPH Web site.

Important Note: There is quite a bit of information given in these articles for some of the listed people and mills, however, for others there is barely a mention that they existed. I do not have any information other than what is in the articles (which I will send you) and I do not have any information on mills or people which are not listed here!
