He stated that he enlisted in Aug. 1861 and served under Capts. Stuart Rogers and Bill Wilson in Col. D. Coleman's Company. He was wounded at the Battle of Chickamauga when he was shot through the collar bone and disabled. He was treated at the hospital and then discharged there. His pension was discontinued at his death, but his widow Bettie Brannon, nee Harris, then applied and received a widow's pension # 5172. She was born in 1844 at Monroe CO, TN and married James S. Brannon on 18 July 1880. Lee Brannon was named in the file as step-son of Bettie (Harris) Brannon.
