3rd Auditor's Office Records, Jan. 30, 1852, show William Martin served as private in TN Militia under Capt. Griffin from Jan. 11th to July 29th 1814 and from Dec. 24th 1814 to May 12th 1815 under Capt. McKamy.

WILLIAM MARTIN'S AFFIDAVIT
FOR BOUNTY LAND

State of Tennessee
County of McMinn

On this 17th day of April AD 1851 personally appeared before me a Justice of the Peace in and for the county and state aforesaid William Martin aged 57 years a resident of McMinn County State of Tennessee who being duly sworn according to law declares that he is the identical William Martin who was a private in the company commanded by Captain Jones Griffin in the Regiment of East Tennessee drafted militia commanded by Col. Allison in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812, that he substituted at Rogersville, Tennessee on or about the 10th day of January 1814 for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of six months and was honorably discharged at Rogersville, Tennessee on or about the 20th day of July 1814 and that his original certificate of discharge is lost, that his service will appear by the Muster Rolls of said company, and the said William Martin further declares that he is the identical William Martin who was a private in the company commanded by Captain Robert McKamey in the Regiment of East Tennessee drafted Militia in the Regiment of East Tennessee drafted Militia commanded by Col. Boothe in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June 1812, that he was drafted in Roane County, Tennessee on or about the 10th day of October 1814 for the term of six months and continued in actual service in said war for the term of six months and was honorably discharged at Kingston, Roane County, Tennessee on or about the 20th day of April 1815, as will appear by the Muster Rolls of said company and that his original certificate of discharge is lost. He makes this declaration for the purpose of obtaining the bounty land to which he may be entitled under the act granting Bounty Land to certain officers and soldiers who have been engaged in the Military Service of the United States passed September 28th 1850, and that he has not received nor is he entitled to Bounty Land under any other act of Congress heretofore passed.
