While several Weatherfords settled in South Carolina or N.C. , Martin moved his family into Georgia in the 1700s.  Martin was a Loyalist (fought for the British!!) and his son Charles was enlisted in the Georgia Militia.

Ben I do not know of but he is there also in 1779

Charles was the son of Mary half blood and Martin Weatherford all born in Virginia but the Alabama history books refer to him as a Scotchman

Martin married twice that we know of and Charles may have had several wives.

Several books have been written about the Weatherfords and their associations with indians, how they fought with the British, and kept company with many well known names in history like McIntosh, McQueen, Durant, Tait, Baily, McGillvary, Marchand,  Cornell, Hawkins, Pickett but the complete truth may never be known.

This Charles is a landowner in 1750 so he may have been the brother of Martin....but also could have been the son of Martin and the mate of Patsy.
