WEBBER VAUGHN DIES

SUDDENLY AT CORBIN

__________

J. M Vaughn, a Brother Succumbs

in Williamsburg Saturday.  Both

Born in Knox County.

__________

Webber Vaughn, 70 years old, dropped dead at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Smith in Corbin Thursday while eating lunch.  Mr. and Mrs. Vaughn and their son (Charles Alexander Vaughn) were enroute from Paint Lick, Ky., to Williamsburg to visit Mr. Vaughn's brother, J. M. Vaughn, who has been in ill health for several months.

Mr. Vaughn's body was brought here and prepared for burial.  The funeral services were conducted Friday afternoon from the First Christian Church with Rev. J. T. McGarvey officiating.  Interment was in the Barbourville Cemetery.  The pallbearers were Douglas Fuller, Tom Fuller, Hobert Williams, F Moore, R. V. Vaughn, and George McNeil.

Surviving Mr. Vaughn are his wife, Daisy Pope Vaughn, and six children.  The deceased was a member of the Christian Church.  He was born and reared in this county and is well known and highly repected by Knox County citizens.

          J. M. Vaughn, 82 years old, the brother whom Mr. Webber Vaughn was enroute to visit, died Saturday night at his home in Williamsburg.  Although he had been ill for several months, the cause of his death was mostly due to heart failure caused by the shock sustained when hearing of his brother's sudden death at Corbin.

He was also well known here and was also born and reared in this county.  These men were brothers of the late Alex Vaughn who resided in this city until his death a few years ago.  Both men had a number of relatives in this county.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at the Christian Church in Williamsburg, Rev. Drowota in charge.  He is survived by one brother, T. H. Vaughn of Corbin.  There were 14 children in the family of which these men were members.

Mr. Vaughn is also survived by three sons, Ed. Vaughn of Corbin, George and Tom of Williamsburg, and one daughter, Mrs. Gladys Haynes of Mississippi.
