[1] 3 Chatham St

[2] Probably Doctor from Cork

[3] Unknown – could it be the John who married Bridget O’Connor?

[4] Probably the same William who appears in Shaw’s 1850 and Dublin Census 1851 at 28 Moore St. He is a baker from Limerick? He is absent from Griffiths 1854, where a Patrick Connell at this address rents a House (two shops) from Antonia Ball for £26. Is this the William who married Maria Fleming? And thus, Patrick’s brother?

[5] Joseph was also a baker – was he related to baker William? He is absent from Griffiths 1854, where a Michl. Hanratty has lodgers at this address which is a house, back-house & yd valued at £33 (p257, Merchants Quay Ward, near Christchurch Cathedral). Francis St appears to have stretched into Wood Quay ward (p205).

[6] EJ's father? Echlin St is about 600m from the Heuston/Kingsbridge railway terminus & Goods Depot.

[7] Again, possibly EJ's father; Luke Healy may have been the son of John Healy who was a spirit merchant according to the Dublin Street Directory 1842. Bow Bridge is about 300-400m from the Heuston/Kingsbridge railway terminus & Goods Depot.

[8] 8 Waterloo Road; this is not Nicholas's son (who was only 14 in 1881); it could be the son of Thomas & Maria Thornhill from Adare, born in 1862, so only 19 in 1881 (married in Newcastle in 1896) ... Or it could be a stranger from the UK. He apparently owned land in Carlow and Laois worth £150 (see http://www.failteromhat.com/post.php). A George Spearing died in Dublin South in 1883, aged 71; and another in Croom in 1892, aged 85. Similarly, a GS was married in Dublin South in 1874.

[9] Miss; 45 Leinster rd

[10] Widow of EJ (Mary Agnes Ryan)

[11] Family of Patrick 3 (son of Patrick 2) & Mary Moyne.

[12] This could be a son of Nicholas (Carlow connection), and the daughter could be Virginia Angela Sperin (born 24/7/1905, married 1939), and therefore wife was Catherine Hand.

[13] Widow of John Spierin, EJ’s brother, living with her son.

[14] Family of Michael (son of Patrick 2) and Mary Cummins.

[15] Family of John Spirin (son of ??? Artist? Went to US?) & Charlotte Berry.

[16] Family of William (son of Patrick 2) and Elizabeth Lynch. Mary is Lizzie’s sister?

[17] Daughter of James Patrick Spierin & Lottie O’Driscoll. Staying with her aunt.

[18] Family of George (son of Nicholas) & Elizabeth Marlow.

[19] unknown

[20] Went to Blackrock College. Parents from Celbridge (?Curragh Camp)

[21] Family of Englishman. Married in 1908?

[22] Unknown. Protestant widow.
