Catherine Murchison, daughter of Murdoch Murchison, granddaughter of Kenneth M. of Moore Co., NC.  Picture taken after 1867 when she married, and includes her husband, James S. Harvey.  She lived from 1850 to 1896.  They lived in Texas.  (Picture in my grandmother's possession)

Family of Lambeth Merrell Heath.  His wife was Flora Isabel Murchison, sister of above Catherine.  Picture taken in Texas, perhaps about 1890.  She lived from 1861 to 1893.  I think Flora is the one to the right of the bearded man.  (I'm not 100% sure that this is the correct family, but given the man's resemblance to those in other pictures of his family, it seems reasonable.)  (Picture in my grandmother's possession)

Eli Murchison and his sons and one daughter of McNairy Co. Tennessee, Eli was the son of Magnes Murchison b. 1801 N.C. (brothers; William and Alexander), son of Daniel Murchison b. 1770 (Scotland?) d. 1846 McNairy Co. TN.  (sent me by Linda Morgan [email protected])

Sample of Murdoch Murchison's handwriting.  This is what links him to Aaron Murchison and shows that they were the sons of Kenneth. (Photocopy in my possession).  Murdoch was the father of Catherine and Flora.  He and Aaron died in Burleson Co., TX.

Frank Strain, Fannie's brother taken around 1875. He was the porter on the first railroad to be built in Austin, TX. The was another picture he took with some kids when he was doing janitor work, he had to take his tie off to show that he was black. His daughter, Aunt Cora, used to drive down to San Antonio to get her hair done at the same place Mamie Eisenhower's did her's, her husband pretended to be the chaffuer and everybody thought she was Italian.  (Picture and description from Sean Harley [email protected])

Here's a pic of my grt grt grandma Fannie Strain- Madison, taken ca 1925, in the background is her granddaughter, Bernice Guinn- Flowers. Fannie was described as mean, strick grandma. She married Giles Madison Nov. 15, 1866 in Batrop Co. TX, the marriage record lists her maiden name as Murchison.  (Picture and description also from Sean.)
