In the Genealogy files at the Garst Museum in Darke County, OH is a copy of an obituary for Abraham. It doesn't give any personal information but it was from Headquarters Company H, 3rd Regiment, O.N.G., Mt. Heron, Ohio dated June 11, 1880.

The family of Charles Spidel of Montgomery County, OH

Charles Spidel, born 1861, died 1923 married Angeline Weaver, born 1863, died 1898. Charles and Angeline are buried together in the Old Bear Creek Cemetery (aka Bowmman, Vaniman, Woodin Cemetery), Montgomery County, OH

Charles and Angeline had six children: Cora, Harry, William, Bess, Earnest b. 7 Sept 1891 d. 12 Jan 1985 and Florence.

The family of David Spidel of Darke County, OH

David Spidel was born 12 Feb 1797 in PA and died 26 Sept 1863 in West Milton, Miami County, OH in a train accident. The obituaries of his children give conflicting information as to where in PA the family came from. They list Somerset, Union and Lancaster Counties. In 1836 the family moved from PA to near Dayton, OH then in 1850 they moved to Darke County, OH.

George W. Spidel born in PA married Mary Warner born in PA.

Son of George and Mary: David born 18 Jan 1846 in Knox County, OH and died 17 June 1930 in Herrick, Shelby County, IL. David married Susannah Wright.

Daughter of David and Susannah: Sarah b. 1869 married Charles Boyd in 1891.
