Dave Luoma David Luoma, 59, passed away in Orlando, Florida, on August 8, 2006 from congestive heart failure.
Dave was born in Waukegan, Illinois, on December 15, 1946. He moved to Orlando in 1984.
Dave was a talented vocalist and musician, playing drums, guitar, and bass guitar. He is probably best remembered as the bass player, and later, lead guitarist for the popular Waukegan band, the "Outspoken Blues", in the 60's and early 70's.
Dave performed with the band at numerous Chicago area teen clubs, including the "Wild Goose" in Waukegan, Illinois, , the "Green Gorilla" in Des Plaines, Illinois, the "New Place" in Algonquin, Illinois, and the "Pink Panther", in Deerfield, Illinois.
Dave performed with the Outspoken Blues when they were the opening act for numerous recording acts including the "Turtles", the "Cryan' Shames", the "Strawberry Alarm Clock", and "Tommy James & The Shondells".
Prior to joining the Outspoken Blues, Dave was the drummer for another Waukegan group called the "X-Men". He was also a member of the band called the "Brydes", playing guitar. Dave had the distinction of being one of three persons who played in both the Outspoken Blues and the Brydes.
Dave was preceded in death by his first wife, Yvonne (nee Trudeau) Straka.
Dave is survived by his daughter Kelly, and his sons Zachary and Michael. He will be missed!
