Donald J. "Don" Johnson of Elgin Funeral services for Donald J. "Don"
Johnson, 79, were held privately.
He passed away Monday, April 14,
2003, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin.
Burial services were also
held privately. Mr. Johnson was a decorated World War II veteran,
having served around the world, in the Army Air Corp.
Before his
retirement, he was the executive vice president of Home Federal
Savings of Elgin for 27 years.
Donald was a member of the Loyal Order
of Moose Lodge #799 and a member of the American Legion Post #57,
both of Elgin.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Don is
survived by his son, Lawrence (Linda Kuykendall Johnson); sisters,
Vivian Samson and Louise Castlebury; stepsons, Charles E. Mason and
James C. (Gail) Mason; sister-in-law, Betty Hagopian; and many nieces,
nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his wife, Eleanore (nee Belzer) Johnson; and parents, John
and Gladys Johnson.

Preceded in death by parents, John and Gladys Johnson, his wife of 54 years, Eleanore (Belzer)
Johnson.
Funeral services and burial were private. Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin was in charge of
services.
