Shirley J. (Stanley) Reeves


Shirley Jeanne Reeves, 77, a life-long resident of Waukegan, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2006, at Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan, after a long illness. Shirley was born on July 14, 1928 in Waukegan, and retired from Abbott Laboratories, where she worked in the Payroll Department. Prior to that she worked in the Business Office at Victory Memorial Hospital. Shirley enjoyed traveling with her late husband, Jerry in their RV and working on her computer skills. Many thanks go to Russell for being her caregiver.
Survivors include four children, Kathy Pulse, Wesley (Doreen) Reeves, Jeanne Bardonner, and Russell Reeves; five grandchildren, Deborah (Jim) Ferguson, Elizabeth Johnson, Erin Reeves, Daniel Bardonner and Mary Reeves; two great-grandchildren, Grace Ferguson and Marques Johnson; four brothers, Lester (Judy) Stanley, Glenn (Susan) Stanley, James Stanley and Robert (Barbara) Stanley, numerous nieces and nephews, and two aunts. She was preceded in death in 2003 by her husband of 55 years, Jerry; and by her parents, Lester and Jennie Stanley.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 30, 2006, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, January 31, 2006, at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Les Martin of Lakeview Church of Zion, officiating. Interment will be at Pineview Memorial Park, Beach Park, Illinois.

Jerry E. Reeves


Jerry E. Reeves, passed away Friday, March 14, 2003 in the comfort of his home.
Jerry was born in New Burnside, IL on April 25, 1929, and moved to Waukegan as a child.
Before his retirement, Jerry was a driver for Sheridan Wholesale Liquor Distributors and had a fleet of cabs dispatched out of the Black & White Cab Company. Jerry, an avid golfer, played with many of his friends and relatives. He also enjoyed fishing with his favorite fishing buddy, Les Geer.
Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Shirley J. (nee Stanley) Reeves. They were married on May 8, 1947 in Waukegan, IL.; two sons, Wesley (Doreen) and Russell of Waukegan; two daughters, Kathy Pulse of Sacramento, CA. and Jeanne Bardonner of Duarte, CA.; five grandchildren, Erin and Mary Reeves of Waukegan, Deborah (Jim) Ferguson and Elizabeth (Marques) Johnson of Sacramento, CA. and Daniel Bardonner of Duarte, CA.; three great grandchildren, Grace and Jessica Ferguson and Marques Johnson of Sacramento, CA.; two brothers, Jack Reeves of Burlington, WI and Tom (Donna) Reeves of Waukegan, IL.; two sisters, Jean (Walter) Heinold of Kenosha, WI. and Ronelle Haapala of Bristol, W.I; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Orpha Reeves; and a baby sister, Ina. Special thanks are given to Jerry and Shirley's son, Russell, his trusted caregiver. We could not have managed without him.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at 2 PM in the CONGDON'S FUNERAL HOME, 3012 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL. Interment will be at Pine View Cemetery in Beach Park, IL. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at the funeral home from 5 to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry Reeves' memory may be made to the Lakeview Church Sunday School, 1821 Sheridan Road, Zion, IL, 60099, Attention: Pastor Les Martin.
