The Wolds
Jens and Ingeborg
Wold Farm in Tysvær, Rogaland, Norway
Jens Jensen\ Voll (Wold) was born 11 May 1846 and Ingeborg Ole Andreasdtr Sætra was born 18 June 1847 in Tysvær, Rogaland, Norway. They emigrated to the United States in 1869 with their daughter, Marte Laurentse and possibly with two other children.
Here is a link for Jens Jensen Wold on the 1865 Norway Census with his siblings and parents. Jens' parents, Jens Jensen Dysja b.1817 and Marte Lambrigtsdt Y. Rødne b. 1826 were from Imsland, Rogaland, Norway. Unfortunately, I don't know anything else about Marte yet.
Jens Jensen Dysja's father, Jens Olsen Dysja b.1789 is found on the 1801 Census. His mother, Marta Eilivsdtr. Byrkjetveit b. 1778 was found living as a servant on the 1801 Census.
You will find some reports on this line at my Family Tree Maker Home Page. With the help of some distant norwegian cousins, I have made some progress on these lines.
Jens, Ingeborg and Martha(Marte) settled in Clay County, South Dakota by at least 1872. More info to come on this. Jens, Lambert and Jens' son in law, Martin Sexe traveled back to Norway at least once for which I have evidence.
