Thomas Tarlton’s first wife was Mary. Mary might have been a Swanner, but not sure. More research is needed to prove this. They were married about 1830.
Thomas and Mary’s children were, Davis, born January 12,1832, died July 5,1913. Davis married Louvenia Teal Seago, in Anson County, on September 28,1865. Louvenia’s first husband was William Seago. He died in the Civil War. Louvenia was born in Anson County on September 30,1840 and died March 17,1919. She was a daughter of Isham and Sallie Tarlton Teal. Davis and Louvenia are buried at Lilesville City Cemetery in unmarked graves. According to the 1900 Census, Davis and Louvenia, had been the parents, of ten children, but only six were living.
James Thomas Tarlton born about 1834 in Anson County. On December 30,1875 he married Marion Creason in Anson County. They were living in Columbia, South Carolina before 1901. They probably died there.
Clemuel Marshall Tarlton, was born May 3,1840,in Anson County. He married Sarah Jane Phillips, on March 25,1870,in Anson County. He died July 31,1904 and was buried in Anson County. They were the parents of four children in 1900 with three living. Mary Tarlton died about 1845. By 1848 Thomas gets married to Frances. Their children were, Riley, born January 7,1850,died June 16,1886. She married a Grady and they had one child when she died. Riley is buried in Richmond County.
Leonidas, born about 1856,married Margaret Hasty, on November 27,1878,in Anson County. It is possible, they moved west, after they got married. James, born about 1858,possibly died while he was very young.
Frances, born November 20,1865,married William Watkins on November 10,1881 in Anson County. They got married and moved to Richmond County. William died January 24,1935. Frances died May 30,1942. William and Frances are buried in Richmond County. Frances, wife of Thomas Tarlton, died sometime after 1882.
In 1893 Thomas went to visit his daughter, Frances Watkins, in Rockingham. He died while at her house and was buried at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, in Rockingham. His date of death was listed as December 29,1893.
