ANSON COUNTY ESTATE INVENTORIES INDEX 1749-1795

Hidden away in the Anson County Clerk's office in Will Book Volume One 1751-1795 are some very important estate inventories that cover the last half of the 18th century. The first seventy pages are the Wills. The index of the estate inventories cover pages 71- 77 and the estate inventories cover pages 80-344. This information is available at the Archives in Raleigh.

Many of these inventories are not dated. The earliest estate inventory with the date included is that of Henry Johnson. His estate was inventoried on June 13, 1749. Page 277.

The latest estate inventory with the date included is that of Samuel Phillips. His estate was inventoried in April, 1795.

Some inventories contain only one sentence. Some contain about one paragraph while others cover a whole page. The estate inventory of Benjamin Dumas covers five pages. Pages 170-174.
