FIFTH GENERATION --STILSON/STILLSON

(Jacob 1; Simon 2; John F. 3; Melvin 4; Melfred 5)

v. MELFRED BENSER STILLSON, is the son of Melvin Marion Stillson and Goldie M. Benser Stillson. Melfred was named for "Mel" his father's first son and "Fred" his mother's fathers first grandson. He was b. July 6, 1932 m. June 2, 1951 to Dolores Gutowski who was b. October 15, 1933 in Wisconsin. Melfred attended Northern Illinois State University in DeKalb, IL. Both Melfred and Delores took early retirement from General Electric Co., in DeKalb, IL where they were employed for thirty-eight years. Melfred held various positions. He started as a die casting operator, then after G.E. sent him to school, he went into Quality Control. With more "schooling " he became a "trouble-shooter" for the Motor Department, flying between the DeKalb, IL plant and the Louisville, KY. G.E. Appliance Park. Dolores was an "Amp II Operator for nineteen years, then after being sent to school by the company, she went into Quality Control Tool Check, traveling to the G.E. plants in Louisville, KYand Davenport, IA. She was a charter member of the G.E. Women's Club. In the DeKalb, IL plant it was called the "Gen-E-Dek" ofwhich she was President and then held various offices. During this time they traveled through Europe by car; Mexico, Canada and Alaska in their motor home plus their jeep. They have visited the Greek Islands and Hawaii. Melfred has hunted and bagged moose in Newfoundland and every fall they go hunting for deer and elk in Wyoming. They are now building a home in Peoria, Arizona.

Deborah Mae b. December 13, 1951, m. June 8, 1968 to David Hooker b. May 9, 1947. "Debbie" is a staff clerk in Student Housing Services at the Northern Illinois State University in DeKalb, IL. David is employed at G.E. as a Die Caster. He was wounded in the arm with shrapnel while serving in the artillery in Vietnam. They spent his R & R in Hawaii.

David Melfred Hooker b. February 8, 1970 in Ft. Sills, Oklahoma. "Dary" works for the University Rental Co.

Jenifer Kristine Hooker b. September 5, 1972 in DeKalb, IL. "Jeni " attended Waubonsee College in Aurora, IL. , continuing in sign language for the deaf She joined the army with first having Nurses Training and now she is an air traffic controller which position she will hold for the next five years in the regular Army.

Robert Frederick b. November 26, 1952, m. Kathy Eliza Smith September 22, 1972. Divorced. He owns a large car wash in DeKalb, IL.

Shayne Henry b. October 26, 1976. He is in the program "People to People Ambassador" during the summer of 1993 to Australia.

Chase Melfred b. February 26, 1979

Melvin "Bernie" Bemardb. May 13,1954, m. October 1, 1983 to KristiPortalaski b. June 5,1963. Bernie is named after his two grandfathers. He is a fireman, paramedic and contractor in Elk Grove, IL and lives in Steamwood, IL m. in Antioch, IL. Bernie traveled with his grandmother Stillson to Hawaii, Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Jordan. He went on to visit a friend in Australia who later won the Australian lotto.

Randal Mark b. September 11, 1955, m. Thomazine Clum. "Randy" is owner ofa car wash in Genoa, IL, and a tanning salon and a laundry and dry cleaning business in DeKalb, Illinois.

Samantha Noel b. April5, 1992 .

Linda Rae b. August 25, 1956, m. July 26, 1980 to Michael Nagel, b. July 8, 1954. Linda received her B.S. in Special Education from Northern Illinois State University in DeKalb, IL and has taught in IL, N.J., and California. They now live in Corona, California, but will be moving to N. Carolina.

Kari Lynn b. September 21, 1989

Alan Matthew b. August 28, 1966. He is in the pool and billiards business of selling and repairing pool tables and accessories. He has visited his "Aunt Dee" in Jordan and has been to Hawaii. He is a graduate of Illinois State University of Normal, IL and has attended N.I. U. in DeKalb, IL.
